What is the next "Big Conversation" in Teacher Education? Help us host it

Is your university at the forefront of a trending issue? Whether it’s the Green Transition, AI-driven pedagogy, or Teacher Resilience, ATEE wants to bring the expert dialogue to your campus.

We are officially relaunching our Call for Host Institutions for the ATEE Winter and Spring Conferences in 2027 & 2028.

Why take the lead as a host?

  • Global Visibility: Position your faculty as a European hub for specialized research.
  • Network Building: Forge deep, lasting partnerships with our global Research & Development Communities (RDCs).
  • Home-field Advantage: Bring top-tier international expertise directly to your students and colleagues.

Our Winter and Spring conferences are unique, they are "deep dives" into niche, pressing challenges. If your institution is passionate about a specific theme, this is your platform to set the agenda.

Ready to put your university on the map? Contact us at [email protected] to discuss hosting opportunities for 2027 or 2028.

New Issue of the EJTE: Navigating Scholarship in an AI-Mediated World

We are pleased to announce that a new issue of the European Journal of Teacher Education (EJTE) is now available.

As we continue to navigate the rapid integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) into our professional lives, this issue’s editorial provides a timely and critical reflection on the future of our field.

The Lead Editorial: A Case for "Thoughtful Reading"

In their Open Access editorial, the editors address a fundamental shift: how AI tools are changing the way researchers, policymakers, and practitioners engage with teacher education scholarship. While LLMs offer unprecedented speed in summarizing and processing data, the editorial makes a powerful case for the preservation of "thoughtful reading."

"In an AI-mediated world, the act of slow, thoughtful reading becomes a professional and political necessity."

We invite you to engage with this vital discussion and explore the full range of research in this new issue.

Policy Update: Prioritizing Well-being in the Digital Age

The European Commission has recently published a significant new study: "Promoting Well-being in Digital Education: Proposal for a Model of Emerging Practices."

As digital tools become inseparable from the modern classroom, this publication examines how we can integrate well-being principles directly into the heart of digital education across the EU.

Why this matters for ATEE members: This study offers a roadmap for moving beyond "tech-first" approaches toward a more holistic, inclusive, and human-centric digital pedagogy. It is essential reading for those involved in our RDCs focused on Primary/Pre-primary education, ICT, and Teacher Health.
