GAIA Webinar on 13 April 2026

The research group GAIA (Generative AI and Assessment in Higher Education) is organizing an online seminar entitled “Rethinking Assessment in Higher Education: Navigating the Era of Generative AI” within the Ulysseus European University.

Generative AI is changing assessment practices in higher education and is prompting new questions about fairness, transparency, inclusion, and how learning is designed.

This seminar invites educators and researchers to bring their perspectives, studies, and classroom experiences to an open discussion on how assessment is evolving in response to AI: its challenges, tensions, and emerging possibilities.

We particularly welcome contributions focusing on:

- AI-supported feedback practices

- AI for formative assessment

- Inclusive and accessible assessment with AI

- AI-supported student and teacher self-assessment

- AI to design and grade summative assessments

The online seminar scheduled a speech in the morning presented by Lorella Giannandrea, Francesca Gratani e Lorenza Capolla from University of Macerata (Italy).

In the afternoon, several parallel sessions are scheduled so participants can present their studies/experiences.
