The European Federation of Education Employers (EFEE) is delighted to extend to you a warm invitation to the TeacherEd final conference. The conference will be held on 13 May 2025 starting at 9 AM in Ghent (Belgium) NV Zebrastraat (Zebrastraat 32, 9000 Ghent).

Explore the theme: "The Teacher Induction Ecosystem: Connecting People, Practices, and Processes" and join us for the final conference of EFEE’s TeacherEd project, an essential event for anyone passionate about supporting early career teachers and shaping the future of education across Europe.

Supporting new teacher induction is not about finding a single “perfect” solution—it’s about recognising the diversity of needs and adapting approaches in different contexts.

The TeacherEd project has been a deep dive into teacher induction and explored the connections between people, practices, and processes, using the concept of ecosystems as a powerful model. The efforts of an extensive survey, qualitative research, and peer learning activities, engaging 275 education employers across 25 European countries in total, culminate in this final conference where key findings will be unveiled and new futures imagined.

This dynamic event combines engaging discussions, expert insights, and actionable strategies to rethink teacher induction practices. Our researcher, Dr. Hannah Grainger Clemson, will unveil her research findings, shedding light on the critical role of interdependent networks of stakeholders in creating sustainable and supportive environments designed to achieve true symbiosis.

OECD REPORT: The Future of Teaching in Wales

The OECD Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) project on New Professionalism and the Future of Teaching project researched how professionalism has evolved, including the importance of working with others to confront increasingly complex contexts, so called “connective professionalism”. Based on the evidence base and ideas for next practice, the project developed a methodology to help diverse stakeholders in education to construct a shared vision on what the teaching profession could look like in the future.
