Call for Experts: European Space for Citizenship Education
The Council of Europe is looking for teacher educators that have interesting/important research in the field of citizenship education, social science education, or social studies, in the following education levels:
  • Early childhood education
  • Primary education
  • Lower secondary education
  • Upper secondary education
  • Vocational education and learning
ATEE members are invited to apply by sending their short CVs and a list of research items in these fields.
Selected members of the ATEE will be invited to a multi-stakeholder conference in Montenegro in October 2025 (participation will be fully funded by the Council of Europe).

Call for a New Co-editor - European Journal of Teacher Education

The Association for Teacher Education in Europe is seeking a highly motivated, established scholar with broad interests in teacher education to join our EJTE team as Co-Editor.
The responsibilities of the Co-Editor will include working with the fellow Editor and Taylor & Francis to increase the visibility and reach of the journal in the scientific community. The appointee will assume the role of Co-Editor on appointment for a 3 year term.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent publication record in the field and experience with the editorial process. They will be enthusiastic, interested in issues related to academic publishing, and committed to lead the growth of EJTE and increase the journal visibility and impact while maintaining high editorial standards. 
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative EJTE team, to enhance career progression and lead with an innovative edge in steering EJTE to sustained success. While not salaried, the position includes a modest honorarium and coverage of reasonable, pre-approved travel expenses related to editorial activities.
ATEE members are invited to read the full call and apply for the post no later than 30 June 2025.

EFIL Forum on Intercultural Learning
From 13 to 15 November 2025, renowned experts, researchers and practitioners in the field of international youth exchanges and intercultural learning will gather in Colle Val d’Elsa, Italy for the Forum on Intercultural Learning and Exchange, co-organised by Fondazione Intercultura, EFIL, and AFS Intercultural Programs.
The theme will be: “Encouraging value based behaviors: from pupils’ mobility to civic engagement.”
Experts will explore how participation in international exchange can foster students’ active citizenship and positive engagement in society. Sounds interesting?

EFEE Peer Learning Activity
The second Peer Learning Activity (PLA) of the TeachProgress project will take place in Helsinki, Finland, on 11–12 November 2025.
Following a vibrant and thought-provoking first PLA in Istanbul—where we explored leadership-oriented career opportunities for teachers—we're continuing the conversation. This time, the focus will be on good practices in teacher career progression frameworks and incentive systems. 
Due to strong interest, most reimbursement-funded places have already been filled. However, self-funded participants are very welcome to join us and contribute to the dialogue.
