The R&D Community on Methods and Theories Applicable to Research encompasses research themes that are relevant for teachers and teacher educators. The community focuses on the interplay between theoretical and methodological research approaches and development.

Mission statement

  • Discussing theories and methods in research that cut across themes and contexts relevant for teachers and teacher educators.

  • Contributing  to knowledge creation in education by cross–examining various research methods and theories.

  • Discussing the adequacy and implications of research methods and theories when it comes to forging a solid understanding of education and teacher education.

  • It intends to provide a platform for discussing methodological approaches (methods and theories) employed in research aimed at teaching and learning and their impact on teacher education.

  • Questioning how the choice and use of methods and theories in research processes constructs the research subject and supports the transparency of these research processes.
