The ATEE Emerging Researcher Network is a friendly and inclusive RDC for emerging researchers in teacher education, aiming to develop and strengthen their research capacity and connections with peers and established researchers in the field – and beyond.
We particularly welcome:
MA and PhD students in the field of teacher education
Postdoctoral researchers who have completed their PhD within the last 5 years
Teachers or education practitioners seeking to undertake (academic) research to support their professional development

We particularly welcome:
- One-day scientific writing workshops before ATEE winter/spring conferences
- One-day conference before ATEE annual conference – followed by the giving of a new ATEE award, i.e. for the best paper presented by an emerging researcher at the conference
- Networking meetings at the annual ATEE conference
- Summer/winter research schools, i.e. for training in research methodologies and skills
- Research surgeries, i.e. a facilitated reflective discussion and trouble-shooting session on emerging scholars’ research proposals (online)
- Book group, i.e. hosted along with conversations with authors/editors (online)
- Pre-submission peer manuscript reviewing, i.e. potentially via mentorship pairings with established researchers in the ATEE community
- Conversations/Q and A sessions with established scholars, i.e. with topics including academic career development, recent research, and global trends and problems in the field of teacher education (online)
- Research collaboration with members of other ATEE RDCs
- Promoting the (research) successes of our emerging scholar network via ATEE social media and conferences
