E-Twinning Conference: ATEE Online Workshop 2nd October – 3 PM CET
Rethinking assessment for future-ready teachers
Frameworks like DigCompEdu and tools like SELFIE are useful, but only up to a point. They give teachers a common language and a clearer picture of where they stand, but they cannot improve teaching on their own. A score or a report only matters if it prompts teachers to stop and rethink how they work. This is especially important for assessment, the area where artificial intelligence (AI) has most strongly challenged established practice. When students can generate essays or solutions in seconds, traditional ways of checking learning are no longer sufficient. This hands-on workshop offers teachers a space to address that challenge together, fostering the professional exchange and collaborative reflection that lie at the heart of the Association for Teacher Education in Europe (ATEE). In small groups, participants will think creatively and reflectively about a real classroom assessment situation, using their digital competence to redesign practice rather than simply measure it.
