TEPE Recommendations: Lessons of the COVID-19 schools lockdown for teacher education

The TEPE annual conference 2021 showed that long-term lessons can and must be drawn from the emergency response to the COVID-19 crisis for the development of the social and moral framework of teacher education programmes in Europe.

This online conference created opportunities to reflect on the lessons that could be learned from the past period with schools lockdowns and the impact on education, learners, teachers and teacher educators. From these reflections, important lessons could be learned for the implications for teacher education.

The summary of the conference is now available at the TEPE website and translated to recommendations to teacher educators and teacher education institutions, to teachers and schools, to education decision makers, to teacher education researchers and to European teacher education policy makers.
