One-day webinar: ICT in education & training in times of pandemic on 25 February 2022

It is aimed at all professionals in the field of education (childhood, primary, secondary, vocational, high school or tertiary educators), academics, researchers, education policy development representatives, university and college governance as well as other professionals or students.  The event is organised by ATEE RDC Enabling Teachers for Entrepreneurship Education with support of members of the ATEE, the University of Granada and University of Extremadura.

AIM

The aim of the event is to promote the exchange of experiences and learning from the COVID-19 crisis, during which technology is being used in education and training at an unprecedent scale, forcing education and training systems, as well as teachers of all education levels fit for the digital age.  It contributes to discuss current issues related to education in times of pandemic and use of technologies, as well as to exchange good practices at any level of education, proposing possible areas of development and cooperation with other areas and professionals.

The scope of seminar includes the following topics:

  • Distance learning in times of pandemic
  • New trends and experiences in education
  • Pedagogical methods and innovations
  • E-content management and development
  • Governance and leadership in times of pandemic
  • Teacher training and teacher development in times of pandemic

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Abstract submission deadline: 22 February 2022
  • Notification of acceptance/rejection will be notified within a few days from submission
  • Paper submission deadline: 30 June 2022

VIRTUAL PRESENTATION OF CONTRIBUTIONS

The contributions must be submitted and presented in English.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Abstract Submission

Participants may submit contributions related to the journal´s topic. Firstly, an abstract be submitted according to the specifications indicated, which will be evaluated by the scientific committee.

For the submission of the contribution, please follow the guidelines and use the following template:

  • Abstract may be submitted in English.
  • The abstract should be 200-250 words in length.
  • 3 to 5 keywords shall be indicated.
  • Structure: It will follow the IMRDC format (Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions) in the case of a research or theoretical/systematic review. It will follow the IDMERC format (Introduction, Description, Methodology, Evidence, Results, Conclusions) in the case of an experience.
  • The abstract shall indicate the topic.

Please send your abstract as a Word attachment to [email protected] no later than 22 February, and indicate in the subject line: abstract and name of the topic.

Final Paper Submission

Participants may submit contributions related to the journal´s topic. Firstly, a paper be submitted according to the specifications indicated, which will be evaluated by the scientific committee.

For the submission of the contribution, please follow the guidelines:

  • It is not compulsory to send the full paper. Only submit your full paper if you want it to be evaluated for publication in Campo Abierto Journal.
  • Acceptance of the abstract does not imply acceptance of the full paper.
  • The text should be submitted in digital format (preferably .rtf or .doc).
  • Paper could be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
  • Title, abstract and keywords will be included in Spanish and English. If the manuscript is written in Portuguese, the title, abstract and keywords should also be included in Portuguese.
  • The abstract should be 150 words in length.
  • 3 to 5 keywords shall be indicated.
  • Length of text: maximum 8000 words.
  • Manuscripts must conform to APA standards for periodicals.
  • Structure: It will follow the IMRDC format (Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions) in the case of a research or theoretical/systematic review. It will follow the IDMERC format (Introduction, Description, Methodology, Evidence, Results, Conclusions) in the case of an experience.
  • The text may be accompanied by illustrations, tables, figures, photos, graphs, sketches in digital format (.jpg, .png, .bmp or .gif) in black and white. They should be placed where you want them to appear in the manuscript. Tables should be set up according to the recommendations of the APA guidelines.
  • The bibliography used for the article and cited within the text must appear. Use APA standards.

Send another identification document with the following content: a) Title in Spanish and English, b) Keywords in Spanish and English, c) Identification of the authors with names and surnames, in the order and format that they want to appear in the article if it is published, identification of the professional affiliation of each author, e-mail of each author, d) Correspondence address that will appear in the article.

Please send your full paper and identification document in digital format (preferably .rtf or .doc) to [email protected] no later than 30 June 2022. Indicate in the subject line: Paper and name of the topic.

 

PUBLICATION OF PAPERS

Publication as an article in Campo Abierto.

Contributions that receive a favourable report from the Scientific Committee will have the possibility of being published as paper in the Journal Campo Abierto.

The article will be published only if it passes the peer review of the journal.  The paper must be adapted to guidelines of journal.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Prudencia Gutiérrez Esteban

University Senior Lecturer (2018) at the Educational Sciences Department at the University of Extremadura. PhD in Pedagogy (2007) (Predoctoral Research Grant, 2002). Her research work and scientific production is characterized by contributions to the field of Teacher Training, Educational Technology, Gender and Education and Innovation in Education, through the publication of scientific papers in indexed national and international journals (20 national and 12 international), books (5 books) and book chapters (22 contributions) and the participation in national and international seminars (more than 100). She has also participated in several research projects in national (State Program for Scientific and Technical Research of Excellence, Institute of Women-European Social Fund) and European competitive public calls (Erasmus+ 2019-2022; IRSES Marie Curie, 2014-2017) and contracts (Instituto de la Mujer, 2017; CEDEC-MEC, 2016; Council of Europe, 2012). Her research career is focused on the European and international level, according the research stays funded in international research centers: Russia (2016), Australia (2015), Argentina (2013), Cuba (2010), Poland (2009), United Kingdom (2006) and Germany (2005). It has a Teaching Period Recognized by ANECA (2008-2012), according to the subjects taught in Degree, Master and Doctorate in the area of Teaching and School Organization. She has supervised 20 TFG, 10 TFM, 3 DEA and 5 Doctoral Theses. In addition, She has coordinated teaching innovation projects in Higher Education funded by competitive public calls and coordinated and taught postgraduate and university teacher training courses. Also noteworthy is her experience in university management area as Vice Dean of International Relations (2008-2011), Educational Director of the Virtual Campus of the UEX (2011-2012), Academic Deputy Director CVUEX (2012-2015) and Deputy Director CVUEx (2016-2018). Co-convenor of Network 22 in ECER (EERA). Member of national and international professional networks and associations (RUTE, SEP, AUFOP, Educ8 Research Group). Two national prizes (RUTE Young Researchers, 2012 and Santander Grant for Young Researchers, 2013). Editor and reviewer of international scientific journals in Education.

 

Maribel Miranda Pinto

Professor in Higher Education in the area of Information and Communication Technologies, in the Department of Communication and Art, in the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. Researcher in the scientific area of Educational Sciences, in the specialty of Educational Technology, at the Institute of Education of the University of Minho. She is currently coordinating the KML2 project – Laboratory of Technologies and Learning Programming for Preschool and 1st Cycle of Basic Education in Portugal, a consortium with several higher education institutions in Portugal (https://www.nonio.uminho.pt/kml2) for the triennium 2018-2021. She developed the research project Kids Media Lab – Technologies and Learning Programming in Preschool Age (http://www.nonio.uminho.pt/kidsmedialab) in the triennium 2016-2018. She is a trainer in the area of ICT and Educational Technology, since 2005 and collaborates with several institutions in teacher training. She has published books, several book chapters, articles in journals and papers in national and international conferences.  She is a pedagogical consultant in the area of educational robotics for the company Clementoni Portugal, for which she carries out research and specialized activities, since 2017. She is interested in the area of technologies in education, computational thinking, programming and educational robotics in the early years of schooling in formal and informal learning contexts.
